Looking for something wild to do tonight? How about the Crazy 8's 7:30pm screening at the Vogue Theatre?

In the last eight days, five local directors have each prepped, shot and edited a short digital film with only $800 and 30 minutes of tape stock. (Their Web site, www.crazy8s.cc)

Sponsored by the Director's Guild of Canada-BC, Union of B.C. Performers, B.C. Council of Film UNions, MGM Production Services B.C., B.C. Producers Branch-CFTPA, Heenan Blaikie and the Alibi Room, Crazy 8s, now it its fifth successful year, has produced 18 films that have screened at more than 75 film festivals world wide, won numerous international and local awards and been broadcast across the country.

Local actor Peter Stebbings (Marcus Alexandar on Jeremiah) is one of the directors this year, with his film Danny and the Fairy G., starring 17-year-old actor Ryan McDonald.

Jacqueline Samuda (sexy evil alien Nittiti on Stargate SG-1) offers her quick flick, 50 Questions.

You'll also see films by Matt Sinclair, Terry Mialkowsky and A Jonathan Benny.

Tickets: $10 through Ticketmaster. The after-party is at the Alibi Room (157 Alexandar) at 10pm.
